Intensifying Competition Compels Leading Ceramic Tiles Manufacturers to Develop Deeper Distribution Channels, TMR

As the competition in the global ceramic tiles market intensifies, leading manufacturers have aggressively taken up the introduction of new designs and development of their distribution channels, finds a new report by Transparency Market Research (TMR). The market demonstrates a highly fragmented competitive landscape, with top five players collectively holding just about 8% of the overall market.

With the robust economic rise, rapid urbanization has taken over significantly across the world. Most widely influenced by this trend are emerging economies in Asia Pacific, the effect of which can be seen in the increased renovation of old constructions as well as new construction activities in these regions. China, India, and several other ASEAN nations are leading this trend with increased commercial construction activities, resulting in a high demand for ceramic tiles. Residential construction undertakings are also a showing significant rise, increasing the consumption of these tiles in these countries.

Increasing Aesthetic Consciousness Boosts Demand in Brazil, Turkey, and GCC
“The volume sale of ceramic tiles will experience a boost in various other nations, such as Brazil, Turkey, and countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) too. The people in these countries are becoming aesthetically more conscious as their increasing disposable income is letting them spend on the beautification of their homes and workplaces, leading to an augmented demand for ceramic tiles,” says a TMR analyst.
Although the market looks thriving overall, the increasing volatility in raw material prices will severely impact the demand for ceramic tiles in the coming years. Identified as an after effect of the economic crisis, the prices of raw materials such as kaolin, feldspar, silica sand, and bentonite have increased rapidly after 2008 and have been rising since then. Additionally, the heavy consumption of these materials in other applications such as glass, refractories, paints, thermal and electrical insulation, and food packaging has augmented their prices further after 2010.
Residential Replacements Remains Biggest Consumer of Ceramic Tiles
According to TMR, the opportunity in the worldwide ceramic tiles market is likely to expand at a healthy CAGR 9.80% during the period from 2016 to 2024 and increase from US$76.81 bn in 2015 to US$178.1 bn by the end of the forecast period. Currently, Asia Pacific is the biggest consumer of ceramic tiles across the world. The region accounted for a demand share of 65.6% in 2015, which is projected to increase to 66.5% by the end of 2024.
In 2015, ceramic tiles recorded maximum consumption in residential replacement. The trend is projected to continue over the forecast period. Floor tiles enjoy the highest demand among all ceramic tile types. This segment is poised to attract more demand in the coming years, owing to an upsurge in residential construction activities in developing economies.
The report segments the global ceramic tiles market as follows:
  • Ceramic Tiles Market – Product Analysis

Physical Vapor Deposition Market: Knowledge Regarding Benefits over Conventional Coating Methods to Fuel Demand, says TMR

The  global physical vapor deposition (PVD) market  is currently led by manufacturers such as IHI Ionbond AG and Oerlikon Balzers (Oerlikon Group). Together these companies account for the dominant market share in the market, clearly due to the superfluous coasts of PVD devices. As the patent protected nature of the PVD technology has restricted the scope for entry of new players, the existing ones enjoy stronghold in determining the price points. A majority of these companies are domiciled in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, finds Transparency Market Research (TMR) in a new study. As a result, only strategic collaborations with PVD companies across these regions can help new vendors establish their foothold in the global physical vapor deposition market.  As per TMR, the global PVD market, which in 2015 stood at US$13.6 bn is expected to reach US$21.8 bn by the end of 2024. If the figures hold true, the global physical vapor deposition market will exhibit...

Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum Market - Global Insights, Growth, Size, Comparative Analysis, Trends and Forecast, 2017-2025

Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) is a composite application utilizing naturally occurring mineral gypsum combined with reinforcing fibers. It may also contain polymers to increase product strength. The molding process can be either hand lay-up or a chopped strand spray method. Stereotypically, the end product is used for indoor applications with negligible exposure to moisture or other environmental elements. Completed composites are in the form of ornamental or decorative columns, pillars and facades. With the slowdown in world economic growth, the global market has also suffered a certain impact, but still maintained a relatively optimistic growth. In terms of revenue, the Global Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum Market was valued at US$ 458.49 Mn in 2016 and is expected to reach US$ 888.35 Mn by 2025, expanding at a CAGR of 7.6% from 2017 to 2025. Gravure Printing Inks Market: Innovative Packaging Approaches to Bode Well for Revenue Generation, TMR

Transparency Market Research (TMR) states that the   global gravure printing inks market   is fairly consolidated. “The market is led by top six players, who reportedly held a share of about 75% in the market in 2015,” states the lead author of this research report. However, these players, Flint Group, Sun Chemical Group, Sakata INX, Toyo Ink Mfg. Co. Ltd., Huber Group, and Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, are expected to grow at a sluggish rate in the coming years as the industries are being challenged by the radical changes in technology, consumer behavior, and economic developments.  To overcome these roadblocks, companies are expected to focus on research and development activities, investments in development and production of digital printing inks, and inorganic expansions.  According to the research report, the global gravure printing inks market was worth US$1.8 bn in 2015 and is expected to pace ahead at a CAGR of 3.98% between 2016 and 2024 to...
